Every Stunt from the Jackass Movie Series Ranked from Best to Worst

With the (supposed) farewell of the Jackass film franchise upon us, we thought we'd take a moment to reflect back on the series as a whole. And as you would celebrate any cinematic achievement, we've taken it upon ourselves to revisit the entire film series (FOH Bad Grandpa...) and rank every stunt in the Jackass Cinematic Universe updated with the NEW stunts from Jackass: Best and Last. Here's where every bit in the 25 year run ranks (sorry for the lack of images, I ran out of storage with my free account):

#173. The Electric Chair Lie Detector
(Jackass: Best and Last)
Set aside the fact that Best and Last really should have been released as an hour long clip show special (ie the Friends reunion) and NOT a feature length theatrical film, the new bits really feel like they were thrown together with the crew just fucking around for 3 days on the Paramount lot to try and pad out the runtime between re-used old footage. It's particularly evident due to how poorly the bits are stitched together in the edit, this segment specifically isn't really even properly introduced. It's just used as a setup for Knoxville to cry about the series ending and then for the crew to laugh at him for hosting Fear Factor. Total throwaway bit, I have no idea how this made the final cut when the trailers seem to indicate so much better footage was left out...

#172. The Dum-Dum Game: Part Deux
(Jackass: Best and Last)
This one sucked for a number of reasons. First off, instead of an incorrect answer resulting in a direct hit to the junk, this time we get Zackass slowly lowered from a crane onto one contestant sitting in a chair below. Second, right and wrong answers don't seem to matter as people just randomly take turns sitting in the chair (which at one point includes Paul Walter Hauser for some reason?!). Last, Ehren steps in for the final round as he's clearly the designated the fall guy for this bit, but to add insult to injury - Poopies calls him ugly and Knoxville kicks him in the dick. Neither Poopies or Knoxville are even laughing when this takes place and for a series that has spent 25 years picking on Ehren, this all felt particularly mean spirited and kind of uncomfortable to witness.

#171. The Fortune Teller
(Jackass: The Movie)
By the time Jackass made it to the big screen, Chris Pontius' "Party Boy" character had already racked up quite a bit of mileage. His appearances in the first movie may be some of Party Boy's weakest overall segments, particularly this painfully obvious set-up where Party Boy sits down with a fortune teller only moments before stripping down to his speedo and dancing in the streets. The atrocious acting by Pontius doesn't help things either.

#170. The Vomitron
(Jackass Forever)
The biggest letdown of Jackass Forever has to be this whimper of a finale the film closes on. Steve-O, Dave England, Poopies, Jasper, Zach and Eric are asked to chug a gallon of milk while riding a motorized merry-go-round. Then for some reason there's this weird military coup lead by Knoxville, Pontius, and Wee-Man in army gear as random explosions go off in the surrounding area while the disoriented 6 jackasses from the merry-go-round are shot up with paintball guns while they try to keep from vomiting. The fuck? Feels like they really ran out of gas at the finish line here...

#169. Underwater Fart Flame
(Jackass Forever)
I honestly still don't know what happened here. Or what was supposed to happen. But I spent way too much time staring into Steve-O's asshole waiting for it I can tell you that. A huge build up with a very disappointing payoff. Even the cast seems uncertain whether or not it worked...

#168. Pissed On
(Jackass 3D)
Seemingly trying to recreate the pov stealth attack clippers from the original movie, Bam Margera just comes off as an asshole sneaking around set, filming himself pissing on unsuspecting cast and crew in the threequel. Nothing clever, no costumes, no trickery - just guerrilla urination.

#167. RoboProstate
(Jackass: Best and Last)
This segment seemed liked it would be so much scarier when just seeing the tease of it in the trailer. When you see the full bit, it's incredibly underwelming. And my god, whoever thought it would be a good idea to use peanut butter as a lubricant, really just made the stunt even more visually disturbing than it already was.

#166. Miniature Bathroom
(Jackass: Number Two)
This was just a stupid sight gag with Dave England shitting on a miniature bathroom. Not a lot to say here. Dude basically poops in a dollhouse. Not sure why Dave England is the go-to guy for poop on demand but this is his laziest bit for sure.

#165. Really Bad Grandpa
(Jackass 3D)
A follow up to Number Two's Bad Grandpa bit (and pre-cursor to the lame spin-off film that's better off being forgotten) here we get a really icky incest "joke" where Knoxville asks a stranger to take his photograph with his granddaughter whom he can't keep from groping. Yikes.

#164. Electroshock Shave & Tattoo
(Jackass: Best and Last)
The way that Poopies is able to power through the electric shocks fairly easily while shaving kind of undercuts the severity of this setup quite a bit. They also didn't do a great job of explaining how Knoxville flexing his bicep results in a shock to the other person and it didn't really add anything to the visual that couldn't have been accomplished with just shocking them in any other fashion. Zackass nearly saves it with the tattoo but even that feels like partially recycled material when remembering Steve-O's "Off Road Tattoo" from the original film.

#163. Apple of My Ass
(Jackass 3D)
Here we get Preston Lacy on all fours with an apple wedged in his ass crack while a pig walks up behind him and eats it. As you can imagine, it's pretty anti-climatic to watch a pig eat an apple out of a fat dude's butt. But the pig's name is Bob, so that's kinda funny. Cause he's bobbing. For an apple. Nevermind...

#162. Ping Pong Ball Trick
(Jackass: Best and Last)
This bit seemed to go on FOREVER with such a nothing payoff. And after Steve-O made such a big deal out of not putting a toy car up his butt for the first movie, it feels like every stunt he does in Forever and Best & Last involves something either going into or coming out of his ass with MUCH less comedic effect.

#161. Yellow Snowcone
(Jackass: The Movie)
We've all heard the tired joke "don't eat the yellow snow" a thousand times before (or at least seen it on a Wal-Mart novelty shirt) but in this stunt Danger Ehren decides to literally act out the bit by eating his own urine soaked snow ball. The fact that he makes it himself takes a lot of the humor out of the proceedings, as there's more time in prep work and vomiting than actually consuming the snowcone.

#160. Naked High Jump
(Jackass: Best and Last)
This might have been better if there was some actual production value added instead of Pontius just getting naked in a random parking lot like it's any Wednesday afternoon. Plus, the jump itself isn't all that impressive looking. The biggest laugh in my theater came from him just standing there flapping his dick around before the jump even happened, after which the audience grew silent as one person loudly proclaimed "but why though?" which felt like the theater's collective response as well.

#159. Wasabi Snooters
(Jackass: The Movie)
This one really only works if you're familiar with Wasabi. But even still, there's way too much time spent watching Steve-O immediately puke afterwards.

#158. Marionette Show
(Jackass: Best and Last)
Another weird editing choice from Best and Last, apparently everything that happened to Dave England left on the cutting room floor for some reason? Instead all we really see is everybody torturing a defenseless, dangling Danger Ehren as he reads lines from a cue card. Come to think of it, this probably would have worked better as a human pinata bit...

#157. Helicockter
(Jackass 3D)
In our first scene of full-frontal nudity in the Jackass franchise, we're treated(?) to Chris Pontius with a string around his dick and the other end of said string tied to a remote control helicopter. The helicopter flies away and yanks his wiener. He yells. End scene.

#156. Cold Brew
(Jackass Forever)
As much as I love Eric Andre, his debut solo bit in the Jackass Universe is kind of a dud. We've seen the airbag attacks before and this one doesn't seem to hit with the same velocity we've seen in the past. It doesn't help that Poopies has a better interaction with the truck nestled in the end credits.

#155. Hotel Gorilla
(Jackass 3D)
By Jackass 3, you have to think Bam's parents aren't surprised by much of anything anymore. And Chris Pontius in a fake ass gorilla suit trashing a hotel room definitely isn't shocking anyone. The un-enthused Jackass playing the role of the animal trainer does a pretty shit job selling the bit also. It's so non-threatening that at one point Phil Margera even stops mid-segment to take a shit. Seriously. They interview him on the toilet. It was the only time I laughed.

#154. The Boar-kake
(Jackass Forever)
Getting gallons of pig semen dumped on you is definitely gross but it's just not all that riveting to watch happen. Dave seems pretty low-key about it as well which doesn't help matters. Pontius drinking a glass as it's being gathered might have even upstaged the eventual prank they were preparing for. I did chuckle at Dave's immediate response - "I'm a vegetarian"

#153. Best and Last Intro
(Jackass: Best and Last)
While it does a decent job at setting the tone for the 5th film in it's recreation of some of the crew's greatest hits, the intro is very stiff and very slow. We get some decent stunts in seeing Wee-Man thrown upside down again by the exploding airbag chair as well as Preston and Zach being sandwhiched between catci, but the majority of the intro consists of the cast just standing still, posing in a Jamaraqui style treadmill-flooored room.

#152. Electric Tapdance
(Jackass Forever)
Much like the various electric themed skits before it, selling a shock visually is really hard to do convincingly. The only reason this bit isn't a total wash here is Tyler, the Creator's hilarious reaction.

#151. Tee Ball
(Jackass 3D)
Steve-O basically just volunteers to recreate every tee-ball segment you've ever seen on America's Funniest Home Videos while in his underwear.

#150. Dirty Dancing
(Jackass Forever)
I'm really not sure how funny it would have been to see Preston and Wee-Man recreate the Dirty Dancing scene where Patrick Swayze lifts Jennifer Grey above his head but before we get to find out, Preston shits his pants. No seriously, that's the whole bit. Then Lance almost pukes, blah blah blah, you know the drill.

#149. Fan Surfing
(Jackass Forever)
I wasn't a huge fan of the Body Surfing bit earlier in Jackass Forever and this felt like they were already re-hashing the same not so great idea with equally not so great results. This new generation of Jackasses has a lot to live up to and they're gonna need to double or triple their creativity for me to give a shit about whatever inevitable spin off is coming after the original crew hangs it up.

#148. 3D Finale
(Jackass 3D)
Continuing the trend of ending all of their films with an over the top stage production, Jackass 3D rolls out even more slow-motion (which this film already has wayyyy too much of) along with some unconvincing special effects. A fitting whimper of an ending for the second weakest film in the series.

#147. Bicycle Backhand
(Jackass Forever)
Re-using the massive spring loaded hands from Jackass 3D, here we get a weird bicycle race to see who can activate their backhand first - Steve-O or Machine Gun Kelly. Thing is, the bikes don't actually seem to be winding up the hands for a smack like they're supposed to and MGK makes for a bad mark because he seems so stoned out of his mind that he hardly has a reaction to anything that happens. It was nice to see him get smacked regardless, but still...

#146. Office Birthday Party
(Jackass: Best and Last)
It's not a bad bit by any means (though I'm not really sure why it needed the "office party" set dressing?), but the ram really only goes after Jasper for some reason. Maybe he is racist?

#145. Old Man Balls
(Jackass: Number Two)
Equipped with prosthetic saggy balls and no real set-up, Johnny Knoxville wanders the streets trying to get a reaction from the prop hanging out of the back of his shorts. Unfortunately the only funny reaction comes from a dog who very thoroughly investigates the droopy prop scrotum (which they ultimately put to better use in Bad Grandpa, BUT WE'RE NOT TALKING ABOUT BAD GRANDPA. AT ALL. JACKASS ONLY HERE.)

#144. Body Surfing
(Jackass Forever)
This one just didn't really turn out that well. The hill is massive and the way some of them go spinning off of it is impressive but it just lacks the awe factor with none of them actually going airborn or clearing an obstacle. The new guys are really lacking in creativity because without the veterans to bail them out, this stunt would've totally floundered.

#143. The Switcheroo
(Jackass: Number Two)
This is a concept that should have been an absolute home run but the execution is botched entirely. Once Preston successfully swaps places with Phil and climbs into bed with Bam's mom, he's completely incapable of eliciting a good response from Mrs. Margera (or 'Ape', if you will). Plus you have Bam in peak "Viva La Bam" douche bag mode wearing decorative scarves and a Hot Topic striped suit jacket trying to make the entire thing about himself while he's weirdly enthusiastic about Preston groping his mom.

#142. How to Milk a Horse
(Jackass: Number Two)
Making a joke out of an ejaculating horse feels especially juvenile, even for Jackass. But in the true spirit of Number Two, the crew ups the ante by then having Chris Pontius drink the end result in one of the few censored bits in the entire series. Which is strange, because they show everything else, up until the semen actually touches Pontius' mouth. Is it considered animal porn at that point? What's up MPA?

#141. Extreme Makeover: Poopies Edition
(Jackass: Best and Last)
After never really getting a payoff from Rachel's botox stunt in Forever, Poopies steps up to gets lip injections with hilarious results. The process however, is just watching someone get a needle in the lips. Much less interesting than seeing a scorpion sting somebody in the face but the end result is pretty great.

#140. The Triple Wedgie
(Jackass Forever)
While the final visual of Wee-Man dangling in the air "like a little angel" was funny enough, this bit was pretty under-developed. Somehow the low budget bungey wedgie from Raab himself jumping out of a tree played much better...

#139. 3D Intro
(Jackass 3D)
After the orchestral carnage that opened the previous two films, Jackass 3D rolls out a super-slow motion collection of introduction sequences that feels like the longest bit in the whole series. It starts things off with very little energy going into what already feels like a painfully forced gimmick and a dated '80s hair band soundtrack.

#138. Paddle Ball
(Jackass Forever)
Already used as a Godzilla monster and baseball bat, this skit finds us re-purposing Chris Pontius' cock as a paddle ball...uh, paddle. How they flattened his dick with those two plastic paddles screwed together still boggles my mind but by God they did it. Beyond that there's nothing here, but flattening a penis is definitely not the worst segment they've put together.

#137. The Fart Mask
(Jackass: Number Two)
This is the kind of fart joke you and your middle school friends would cook up. Unfortunately though, this all just seems really fake. Steve-O pukes almost instantly and his scuba helmet doesn't even keep the vomit in, so how good can it be at trapping a fart inside? Then Preston adds in at the end, that he accidentally shit in the funnel rather than fart. But it seems more likely that the turd was already in there before they started filming? I don't know...I have a sneaking suspicion this whole bit was an attempt at re-filming something where maybe the first try didn't tape well?

#136. Speedbag
(Jackass Forever)
Another miniature set piece, this time with Preston Lacey's balls being used as a punching bag by some weird pumping gun. Preston's uncomfortable grimace is more funny than anything else here really.

#135. One Last Ride
(Jackass: Best and Last)
Really the only proof that Best and Last wasn't entirely thrown together in one marathon session weekend, this massive recreation of the opening stunt from the original film feels like a decent way to endcap the series - even if we never got a proper Bam & Johnny reunion. Which sucks, because the shopping cart bit originated with Bam in CKY, so it's bittersweet to see it ride off into the sunset without him (and of course Ryan Dunn)

#134. Scorpion Botox
(Jackass Forever)
While I hate to shit on the first female fronted solo segment in the Jackass Cinematic Universe, this bit needed a better payoff. We needed to see the post-sting swelling days later if this was going to be sold as a "botox" segment. Huge missed opportunity. It was a joke without a punch line.

#133. Lamborghini Tooth Pull
(Jackass 3D)
There's quite a juxtaposition of wealth here as we see co-star Bam Margera peel out in his luxury sports car while Danger Ehren has a rotten tooth ripped out of his skull. Poor Ehren gets no respect. But this doesn't film well and even the super slow-motion replay is underwhelming, despite the bloody aftermath left behind.

#132. Bicentennial BMXing
(Jackass: Number Two)
Old timey bicycles look funny enough on their own but there's not much passed that built into this short lived bit. Neither Knoxville or Dunn can seem to even get the bikes going very fast before Knoxville flips forward over a snow pile and onto his face, abruptly ending the segment.

#131. Rocky
(Jackass 3D)
So not only does Bam go around pissing on people during the filming of Jackass 3D but he also sneaks up behind them to throw water in their face seconds before clocking them with a boxing glove. But at least this gag looks a little cooler. Still overkill to have 3 of these drawn out sucker punches though (because of the sUpEr sLoW mOTiOn).

#130. The Magic Trick
(Jackass: Number Two)
Jackass: Number Two is chocked full of random cameos and this quick bit from John Waters was one of the laziest of the film. But to be fair, the Jackass crew has been pairing Wee-Man up with incredibly large people for easy laughs for quite some time so maybe that's why this feels so half-baked.

#129. Scooter Shop
(Jackass 3D)
Other than the overly used slow motion sequences, the other thing the Jackass crew really ran into the ground in part 3 was the old man make-up. Here we get Knoxville crashing a scooter through a massive display window but it's done at such a slow speed, it's really hard to believe the authenticity of this bit.

#128. Dildo Bazooka
(Jackass 3D)
While on paper a segment titled "Dildo Bazooka" should be comedic gold, they really lean on those slow-mo cameras in Jackass 3D way too fucking much. Watching a dildo wobble across painted backdrops just doesn't seem like the most thoughtful sequence of events. Dildo Bazooka has to end with a better payoff than slapping Rick Kosick across the face with a rubbery member.

#127. The Marching Band
(Jackass Forever)
Blink and you'll miss it, but Bam did actually make it into Jackass Forever as a member of the marching band here. And while this stunt did end up halting production for a bit due to Knoxville and Steve-O's injuries, it's really not all that great. Maximum pain with minimal payoff.

#126. Sweatsuit Cocktail
(Jackass 3D)
This was kind of a funny bit, but to quote Johnny Knoxville - "this is rinky dink, even for us". The sweat suit Preston exercises in doesn't really collect sweat very well and by the time Steve-O finally gets the plastic cup of perspiration up to his lips, he's already gagging and ready to vomit before he can take a drink.

#125. Zackass
(Jackass Forever)
I think Zach may have the most potential of any of the new cast to be really great (unless you count Dark Shark, aka Jasper's dad) but this stunt was about as riveting as you would imagine a fat dude jumping into a cactus might be. Painful? Yes. Entertaining? Eh...

#124. Roller Buffalo
(Jackass 3D)
This is another segment of Johnny Knoxville being run over by a charging animal, weighed down by a dopey soundtrack tie-in and a stiff dance number with roller skates in the mud.

#123. Yard Sale Crap
(Jackass Forever)
An homage to the Hardware Store Crap from the original Jackass movie, Dave England dons the classic yellow sweater and takes yet another shit in public, this time at a yard sale. However, this time he's launched off the toilet by a massive stream of water. It's kind of funny, but the reaction from the bystanders really undersells it. Funny concept neutered by a lackluster reaction.

#122. Pontius the Barbarian
(Jackass 3D)
There were a lot of weird miniature sets in Jackass 3D. Here, we get Chris Pontius upside down being repeatedly stung by a scorpion and subsequently getting mad about it. And he seems genuinely upset, even though it's hard to take him seriously with blonde ponytails glued to his chin. But as Bam says to close out the stunt, "What'd you think was gonna happen?"

#121. The Bear Trap
(Jackass: Number Two)
Number Two's staged musical ending has plenty of great stunts nested within it, but the musical number itself and the choreographed dance around it are pretty lame.

#120. Roadrunner
(Jackass Forever)
Like a classic Looney Tunes cartoon brought to life, Eric Manaka crashes a bike directly into a massive printed picture of a sidewalk. Might have been more effective if the print out was used on an unsuspecting victim? Maybe somebody looking down at their phone would be stupid enough to walk straight into it? Still kinda funny though as it is. Kinda.

#119. Party Boy Japan
(Jackass: The Movie)
It's always funny to see people made uncomfortable by flamboyant male sexuality but Japan seems much less hostile towards "Party Boy" than Americans were. As Chris Pontius aimlessly skips around in his speedo, the only real consequence for doing so is a Japanese official blowing a whistle in his direction. This even after Pontius steals his hat.

#118. Electric Balance Beam
(Jackass: Best and Last)
Yet another electroshock bit from Best and Last, this time with Poopies begrugingly attaching a shock collar around his member while trying to walk across a balance beam. All does not end well for Poopies. This bit also seems to carry an ugly undercurrent of rookie hazing with Knoxville kind of peer pressuring Poopies into doing the bit? Maybe I'm reading too much into it, I don't know...

#117. The Burglars
(Jackass: The Movie)
Probably the Jackass stunt that feels most like a bad Impractical Jokers bit, this segment is saved by the reaction of the dude that sprints out of the building as soon as Bam and Knoxville fall through the ceiling.

#116. The Human Pretzel
(Jackass: Best and Last)
Steve-O attempts to make himself the self-proclaimed MVP of the 5th film but much like the Sweat Suit Cocktail before it, the plastic suits intended to trap the participants with their own bodily fluids don't really hold very well. It's still a gross, funny concept. Just entirely too short and poorly constructed.

#115. The Leech Healer
(Jackass: Number Two)
This one is particularly hard for me to watch, as Steve-O visits a leech healer in India to have a leech attached directly to his eyeball. *Shutters* Watching the crew around him scream "keep your eye open" as the leech latches on is particularly cringey but of course Steve-O walks away with his only concern being "does it look cool?"

#114. Keep God Out of California
(Jackass: Number Two)
I love the "Keep God Out Of California" bit from the TV series but here, he's literally just dropped into the proceedings onto his face and not asked to do much else. But it is a cool re-emergence of a beloved series character.

#113. The Box Drop
(Jackass: Best and Last)
Along with the handful of new stunts and the greatest hits recycled from previous movies, Best and Last features some rarely seen bits from the crew's early years (although if you're a true Jackass sicko like me, you'd likely already seen them on the Jackass DVD sets released in the early 2000's). This one was banned from airing on MTV for being to "recreateable" and that home-made quality is probably it's biggest selling point.

#112. The Ram Jam
(Jackass 3D)
This was really just a dumb concept. Blowing horns at a ram? That's all you got? And though I'm sure it hurt like hell, being charged by a ram looks way less impressive after Knoxville takes on a bull every movie. Cool costumes though. And much better than the ram segment in Best and Last.

#111. The Rake Jump
(Jackass: Number Two)
Another inexplicable celebrity cameo finds Steve-O in a random field with Oscar winners, Three Six Mafia. Whom he introduces and then proceeds to jump onto a rake. That's it. That's the bit.

#110. Prison Break
(Jackass: Best and Last)
Another throwback bit that MTV refused to air, this one works almost in spite of the gag itself falling kind of flat. Knoxville hasn't really honed in his improvisational acting skills just yet so the setup of him wondering around a hardware store in an orange jump suit looking for someone to saw him out of his handcuffs doesn't work all that well. The laughs come from the police showing up, so flustered that the officer forgets to put her car in park and it drives up onto the sidewalk. Also, there's the anectodal footnote that MTV was banned from filming anything in West Hollywood for a decade because of this stunt.

#109. Medicine Ball Dodgeball
(Jackass: Number Two)
This really could have been better had they not decided to film it entirely in the dark.

#108. Wee Man Bar Fight
(Jackass 3D)
What starts out as some really bad theater eventually turns into slapstick lunacy when little people cops come in to break up a little person bar fight. Which then of course, is followed by little paramedics. A funny visual, even if the barflys day drinking in the background don't offer much of a reaction for the crew to play off of.

#107. The Fist
(Jackass Forever)
Eric Manaka gets blasted off his skateboard by somebody in a giant yellow fist costume. Nothing too fancy, just a hilariously bizarre fist costume laying a dude out.

#106. Bungee Boogie
(Jackass 3D)
This one just didn't film well, as the sling shot seems to be slower than it actually is and the dinky inflatable pool the Jackasses are launching themselves toward kind of undercuts the scale. Plus, Dave and Ehren kind of land their attempts - nobody really wants to watch them succeed at this stuff, right?

#105. The Ice Horse
(Jackass: Number Two)
Watching your friend freeze his nut sack to an ice sculpture of a horse - tired.
Running up to push him backward, ripping his skin from the ice in the process - wired.

#104. Beehive Tetherball
(Jackass 3D)
This one was pretty funny but Dave England's reaction is just so over the top. Especially compared to Steve-O who doesn't seem to mind the bees whatsoever. In fact, Steve-O even finishes the game of tetherball by himself after Dave runs away in terror.

#103. Brad Pitt Abduction
(Jackass: Best and Last)
The highest profile cameo the crew ever scored was getting Brad Pitt to go along with a fake abduction at the height of his fame somewhere in the early 2000's. It's not exactly riveting footage but the fact that they pulled it off is something of an achievement unto itself.

#102. Bad Dog
(Jackass 3D)
This one's pretty basic. Knoxville gets chased up a clothesline and bit on the ass by an aggressive dog. Looks painful. Cue laughter.

#101. The Mini-Loop
(Jackass: Number Two)
This one was pretty fun to watch but sadly there isn't a clean angle when they finally make it through the loop. Kind of neuters the payoff.

#100. Will the Farter
(Jackass 3D)
This bit takes a little while to get going but the final pay off of seeing a blow dart propelled by Will's fart, popping a balloon clenched between Steve-O's ass cheeks is entertainment of the highest order.

#99. Lake Jump
(Jackass: Number Two)
There are a series of stunts performed launching into this same lake for Jackass: Number Two and this rocket bike sequence is the least impressive of the bunch. Especially when Matt Hoffman impressively hangs on for a casual back flip into the water.

#98. Snake Pit
(Jackass 3D)
With the build up of a potential fourth slow motion Rocky punch, Bam is instead double crossed and dropped into a snake pit. His reaction is much less entertaining than his snake encounter in Number Two, although he does cry again and does seems to be near a full blown anxiety attack. But this time there's an aura of betrayal surrounding the event. He seems genuinely hurt by this and it sucks the fun out of the stunt like a pouty kid who can dish out extreme pranks but can't take them.

#97. The Fish Hook
(Jackass: Number Two)
The gruesome act of self mutilation by Steve-O, piercing a literal fish hook through his cheek is probably the squirmiest I've been during any Jackass bit. But the pay off of seeing Steve-O swim alongside sharks is almost worth it. Almost.

#96. The Strongman
(Jackass: Number Two)
I think I just really love the costumes and props for this one. There's not much of anything to it really. Chris Pontius dons a classic circus strongman outfit while swinging a hammer at a carnival game that has Bam Margera's naked ass at the top in place of the bell and a golden dildo in place of the weight, which slaps into Bam's exposed ass. Simple, stupid, funny.

#95. The Invisible Man
(Jackass 3D)
One of the more poorly constructed rodeo clown bits of the series, Knoxville attempts to blend into a painted backdrop (again with these weird scenery bits...) and of course ends up being charged by a bull.

#94. Gloria
(Jackass: Number Two)
The make-up job on Spike Jonze here is absolutely fantastic but Jonze is not much of an actor and doesn't sell the bit well at all. Really wasted potential here considering how great he was in the first movie, this was disappointing.

#93. Poo Volcano
(Jackass 3D)
Here we have perhaps the lone improvement going from Jackass: Number Two to Jackass 3D with Dave England taking a shit on another miniature set, this time in a tad more unexpected fashion. Both in the set-up and in the actual act of shitting - how does anyone projectile poop like that while upside down?!

#92. Musical Chairs
(Jackass Forever)
This bit feels like something straight out of the tv show, seemingly filmed in one of their backyards with a concept as old as time. The gang plays musical chairs with each of their recliners packing an airbag, though we really only get a solid launch of Wee-Man. And I really could have done without ever seeing Rob Dyrdek for the rest of my life.

#91. Whale Shark Gummer
(Jackass: The Movie)
There's a little too much build up for this bit but the spectacle of seeing Chris Pontius and Steve-O swim alongside these massive animals is pretty wild. Plus there's a level of authenticity added to every stunt where there's the unpredictability of live animals tossed in despite how much it probably infuriates PETA.

#90. The Butt Chug
(Jackass: Number Two)
Watching somebody take a beer bong up the ass isn't all that thrilling but the crew's reaction around Steve-O really makes the bit work. Especially when Bam interjects with the plunger.

#89. BMX Tug-Of-War
(Jackass: The Movie)
I kind of ruined this one for myself listening to the DVD commentary track (I had way too much time on my hands as a teenager, okay) but *SPOILER* - Preston didn't actually budge from the couch when the rope pulls Ryan Dunn off of his bike mid-air. They re-shot Preston falling off the couch for the better payoff. But having Dunn land directly in cacti while he argues with someone off camera about the plural of cactus ("It's Cacti!") is kind of a funnier end result than Preston falling off of the couch anyways.

#88. The D Hive
(Jackass Forever)
This stunt would be absolutely terrifying (and equally painful) but watching a naked 50 year old stand completely still and scream just didn't really do much for me. It was kind of funny to see the bees form a mini-hive but other than that, it was a great idea with surprisingly lackluster payoff.

#87. Clipper Attack
(Jackass: The Movie)
The pov razor attacks sprinkled throughout Jackass: The Movie are kind of funny, but overall feel staged. Especially Wee Man's. Poor Ehren gets it the worst though, they really seem to love fucking with him.

#86. The Bungee Wedgie
(Jackass: The Movie)
Raab himself's lone contribution to the Jackass film universe feels like something Bam's crew would have done in the CKY days. But Raab dangling upside down from a tree is pretty funny even as the idiotic premise goes absolutely nowhere, proving sometimes failure is sometimes the best result.

#85. Jackass Forever Intro
(Jackass Forever)
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say I don't think any mainstream theatrical release has as much male nudity as Jackass Forever. So of course the introduction reintroduces us to the cast with Pontius' dick painted like a kaiju monster destroying a miniature city. But I gotta say, it actually works pretty effectively and each of the cast members' introductions in the city is done really well. And was that Jalen Ramsey?

#84. Off-Road Tattoo
(Jackass: The Movie)
Henry Rollins really sells the intensity of Steve-O's off-road tattoo, at least as much as watching someone getting a tattoo can be sold as a must-see event.

#83. Ass Kicked By Girl
(Jackass: The Movie)
Ryan Dunn's brief Japanese boxing match isn't all that riveting but the build up and inevitable pay off of Dunn being bludgeoned by a professional fighter of the opposite sex is undeniably entertaining.

#82. Bathroom Attack on Phil
(Jackass: The Movie)
This feels pretty small-time for the Jackass movie but seeing Phil buck naked and bewildered by a surprise attack from his son while sitting on the toilet is always going to be funny. Especially when he punctuates the segment by crying out "Ape, where's the toilet paper!?"

#81. Bulletproof Vest
(Jackass: Best and Last)
The stunt that launched the entire series just so happens to probably be the most dangerous stunt of the entire franchise as well. The only problem is, it definitely looks like it was filmed by a group of amateur 20-somethings in the desert. Don't get me wrong, the tension while seeing Knoxville repeatedly pull the trigger while cycling through the chamber to find the bullet to fire into his own chest is riveting, but the presentation leaves a hell of a lot to be desired.

#80. Porta Potty Cleanser Bomb
(Jackass 3D)
The visual of Ryan Dunn coming out of a porta potty, plastered in blue paint is pretty great. I just wish there would have been a camera inside to capture the explosion happening. Thankfully though the gang pulls the prank a second time with Dave England and a camera inside along with him when the blue bomb goes off.

#79. Ass Rockets
(Jackass: The Movie)
Fireworks always make for great stunts. Tie those fireworks to Chris Pontius' dick while launching them out of Steve-O's asshole on a hotel balcony and you're fucking set.

#78. Super Mighty Glue
(Jackass 3D)
This stunt starts out really slow but once Bam grabs onto Ryan Dunn's beard with a hand full of super mighty glue, things escalate beautifully. It's still way too drawn out but when Wee Man starts to push himself up off of Preston as the skin on their torsos are glued together and Preston screams for Wee-Man to lie back down, the laughs are absolutely worth the time invested.

#77. Dave Eats Shit
(Jackass: Number Two)
The title really says it all for this one. Juicy J offers up $200 for Dave England to eat a piece of horse shit. He does it. The End.

#76. Bad Grandpa Forever
(Jackass Forever)
I was a little disappointed we didn't get to see Knoxville's quip game fully utilized as much in this movie's old man prank but seeing him launched up into the ceiling of a furniture store nearly made up for it. But this was the first instance in Jackass Forever where the impact of COVID can really be felt as all the employees are wearing masks and there's no customers in the store to film a reaction for which does dampen the impact of the stunt quite a bit.

#75. Grind This Rail
(Jackass: The Movie)
If you grew up watching Jackass, there's a strong likelihood you were into skateboarding at one point or another as well. Or at least tried. In which case Knoxville's 50-50 attempt here (with the aid of Clyde Singelton and Eric Koston) is probably painfully relatable.

#74. Puppet Show
(Jackass: Number Two)
Kicking things off with a bang, the first stunt in Jackass: Number Two finds Chris Pontius' dick in a home made mouse costume being bitten by a snake. But for a snake bite in the dick, Pontius doesn't seem to mind it at all. It's shocking how little he reacts to a snake biting him in the tip of his penis. Is he on something? Probably. Aren't they all?

#73. A Big Cone
(Jackass: The Movie)
There are a lot of easy visual gags with Wee-Man sprinkled throughout the series but this one always makes me chuckle. Maybe it's the overflow of people trapped on an escalator as Wee-Man blocks the exit in his giant orange cone?

#72. The Shoplifter
(Jackass: The Movie)
Here we have the original old-man stunt as Johnny Knoxville takes a fairly simple premise and wrings every laugh possible out of it. But in all honesty, it's the store clerk who's the real star here.

#71. Electric Avenue
(Jackass 3D)
This is another bit that probably seemed like gold on paper, as the crew tries to climb their way through a hallway filled with dangling stun guns and twirling cattle prods. But as painful as it may actually be, it doesn't necessarily translate visually very well.

#70. Human Ramps
(Jackass Forever)
Pretty basic premise here with Knoxville, Preston, Dave England and Danger Ehren stacked underneath pieces of wood and used as a ramp for bikes, skateboards and eventually the debut stunt of Zackass. Simple but effective. Gotta love anything that uses Stiff Little Fingers in the soundtrack also.

#69. Rocket Skates
(Jackass: The Movie)
Part of the charm of Jackass is that the ideas don't always have to work to provide plenty of hilarious content. The rocket skates never really add any speed to Knoxville, even when going downhill, but the screaming sparks and explosions really sell it as Knoxville does his best to keep the assortment of rockets from exploding on top of him while lying on the ground defenseless.

#68. The Muscle Stimulator
(Jackass: The Movie)
Much like the Electric Avenue bit listed previously, it's hard to really sell the effects of being shocked visually. The crew does their darnedest with some particularly bad acting (Chris Pontius being the standout once again) but the interaction of the group subjecting themselves to the shocks salvages the bit.

#67. Sacrificial Satanicus
(Jackass Forever)
In a call-back to their Wildboyz stunt with a tasmanian devil, here Steve-O and Pontius dress up in black metal face paint and skeleton costumes while tying down Wee-Man as a human sacrifice with bits of raw meat covering his body. And while the production value and vulture itself sell the segment really well, Dark Shark's petrified reaction to the vulture really elevates it even further.

#66. The Bungee Jump
(Jackass: Number Two)
Maybe the most random ass cameo in Jackass history, Miami Dolphin Jason Taylor makes an appearance to watch Wee-Man jump off of a Miami bridge while tethered to Preston Lacy. This is one stunt I wish they actually had the super slow motion cameras from Jackass 3D to film with.

#65. Roller Disco Truck
(Jackass: The Movie)
The fast paced music doesn't quite sell the chaos all that much but the sheer absurdity of the bit doesn't require it to. It works regardless and the final slam on the breaks provides a solid knockout punch.

#64. Mushroom Launch
(Jackass: Number Two)
With the test run looking as intimidating as it did, I was really looking forward to Ryan Dunn launching off of that loading dock via slingshot in a shopping cart. But Bam pulls an audible last second and drops the dock door in front of Dunn as he's hurling toward the end of the ramp. It's still kind of funny, but being denied the initial premise still sours the experience.

#63. Son of Jackass
(Jackass: The Movie)
The post credits scene of the entire Jackass crew being annihilated by massive Hollywood effects is easily the best highly produced outro of the series for me, offering a myriad of hilarious death scenes for all.

#62. The Gauntlet
(Jackass: Number Two)
In somewhat of an X-games / mXc hybrid, this bit finds Jackasses trying to make their way through a series of swinging punching bags as they ride the ramps of an indoor skate park. Impressively enough, the only person to skate through it unscathed happens to be wearing a blindfold.

#61. The Hammock
(Jackass Forever)
It feels like one of the effects of filming during the pandemic was that it forced the crew back into their backyard roots. And who hasn't seen someone harmlessly lying in a hammock and thought about launching them out of it? Sometimes you don't need a massive budget or elaborate build up. This absolutely works because of it's every day feel.

#60. The Big Tire Race
(Jackass: Number Two)
Who hasn't seen one of these giant tires and thought about riding inside of it? There could have been some more thought put into where they're rolling down and how, but it's still effective nonetheless.

#59. Would You Mind Watching My Dog
(Jackass 3D)
They love to put Preston Lacy in bits with little people (usually just inexplicably chasing Wee-Man down the sidewalk in ridiculous costumes), but this set up having Lacy ask a pedestrian to watch his dog while he goes into a store and a little person in Preston's exact outfit comes out and take the dog back from them makes for some great stupid laughs.

#58. Papercuts
(Jackass: The Movie)
There's a familiarity with the everyday pain of a papercut that makes this segment particularly cringe inducing. Especially considering the cuts are delivered in between toes, fingers, and across Steve-O's mouth. And that sound, uggggh.

#57. The Escape Room From Hell
(Jackass: Best and Last)
I'm not sure what happened in the editing room here (somehow we never even see Dark Shark's portion?) but nevetheless, this stunt was far and away the best original segment we got out of Best and Last. Even if Ehren's exagerated reaction to the electric chair finale felt ultra fake, it was still pretty funny to have his last contribution to the series be running away into the night in his underwear screaming "FUCK THIS!"

#56. The Quiet Game
(Jackass Forever)
I really loved the idea of the cast being put through incredibly painful experiences dressed as mimes in a contest to see who could go the longest without making a sound. It was just way too short. I mean, I guess that's what made it kind of work also, when Steve-O screamed out on his very first stunt. But I would've liked to have seen Rachel and Poopies keep going until only one winner was declared...

#55. The Electric Stool
(Jackass: Number Two)
Another electric shock stunt here, but what makes this one stand above the rest is the fact that Wee-Man thinks the pain is coming from a professional card thrower. Better still is when he thinks he's REALLY figured out what's going on - he mistakenly accuses them of using a card throwing machine.

#54. The Gong
(Jackass: The Movie)
Funnier than scaring unsuspecting civilians with a loud gong is Rick Kosick's awkward bow as he's left holding said gong when bystanders turn around to see what the noise is as Johnny Knoxville scurries away laughing. There's an odd tension between Kosick and Knoxville in this bit, which climaxes with Rick himself being hit with the mallet instead of the gong and eventually being stripped of his sumo diaper in the street. I always love when the crew turns to pranking each other instead of the public.

#53. Duck Hunting
(Jackass 3D)
I absolutely love the concept here and seeing these guys launched into the air with the Heavyweights style Blob inflatable is awesome. However, the realization of that concept is less than optimal. There's a lack of energy just watching the crew wait in a boat and without any music, the otherwise impressive stunt feels slow. Good but could have been great.

#52. Big Green Ball
(Jackass: Number Two)
Full transparency here - I definitely tried this as a kid, only I wasn't as smart as Dave England was here. He wisely belly flops onto the exercise ball while I tried to land on my feet. He got way more air with his, I flipped backwards onto my head. This is why you leave this shit to the professionals, kids.

#51. Milk In Hat
(Jackass Forever)
In Johnny Knoxville's final rodeo with a live bull, he attempts to poor a glass of milk into a top hat and retain it on his head as he fights the bull. But of course the bull violently flips him into the air resulting in a concussion, broken wrist, a brain hemorrhage, broken ribs and a whole mess of spilled milk. It's the most horrifying hit Knoxville has ever taken and definitely one he's lucky to walk away from. But while it may be the most injury inducing stunt of the Jackass series, that doesn't necessarily make it the most entertaining.

#50. The Christmas Tree
(Jackass 3D)
I have no idea who the Dudesons are so this build up takes a little longer than needed for me. But the fall Knoxville takes out of this massive pine tree is staggering none the less.

#49. Bad Grandpa
(Jackass: Number Two)
Here's another bit saved by Johnny Knoxville's ability to ad-lib on the spot. The child actor is great too but the highlight is the long haired guy sitting next them asking if they'd like to step outside and Knoxville's impeccably timed retort, "we're already outside, numb nuts".

#48. Sir Marcius
(Jackass: The Movie)
If you've seen Bam Margera's CKY video series, you know the joys of both Brandon DiCamillo and bicycle jousting. This is a great homage to that series and one of the lone traces of "Dico" nested in the Jackass film universe, as brief as it may be.

#47. Department Store Boxing
(Jackass: The Movie)
This is a fantastic concept but unfortunately it doesn't get much of a reaction from the clerks or customers in the store. They seem more concerned than angry. But Butterbean and Knoxville are both hilarious regardless, especially after Knoxville receives the knock out punch and upon regaining consciousness asks "Is Butterbean okay?"

#46. The Yak
(Jackass: Number Two)
There are quite a few instances of charging horned animals flipping Johnny Knoxville into the air but this one seems particularly violent for some reason.

#45. Night Pandas
(Jackass: The Movie)
Night Pandas is another simple sight gag, with the crew running wild in the streets of Tokyo wearing giant panda suits. But despite their destructive disruptions throughout the city, the Japanese don't meet them with the kind hostility they're used to receiving in America, but instead they're embraced in what may be the lone feel good stunt of the series.

#44. The Jet Ski
(Jackass 3D)
I could have done without the set-up monologue from Pontius (btw, I swear I don't hate Pontius even though it feels like I've spent this whole article shitting on him) but the stunt itself is pretty hilarious. Especially when replayed from the camera on the jet-ski's handlebars. I didn't think Knoxville would be able to get enough speed in a pool that small to launch himself out of it but damn...

#43. The Rocket Cart
(Jackass: Number Two)
After the rocket bike and wheelchair didn't inspire much excitement in the initial Lake Jump bit, of course the crew moved onto their preferred method of transportation - shopping carts. And Ryan Dunn's back flip into the lake is a solid 8.

#42. The Blind Side
(Jackass 3D)
I may be a bit biased here as a Minnesota Vikings fan but seeing Jared Allen plant Johnny Knoxville into the fucking ground with a blind side tackle was one of the best bits of Jackass 3D for me. Especially when Knoxville lines up for another round, spouting "Hey Jared, don't hit me with your purse this time".

#41. Into The Spider-Dome
(Jackass Forever)
Here we have another sadistic game show premise where two plastic dome helmets are connected with a tube and a tarantula is dropped in the middle. The two contestants, Danger Ehren and Dark Shark, sell the bit incredibly well as they do everything they can to make sure the tarantula doesn't end up in their helmet but of course, Danger Ehren somehow still emerges as the loser and has to take a Tarantula bite in the nipple.

#40. Airbag Doorbell
(Jackass: Number Two)
Dave England gets absolutely annihilated here. Maybe even concussed? His bewildered "What the fuck was that?" response is both hilarious and kind of concerning.

#39. Pin the Tail on the Donkey
(Jackass 3D)
Maybe even funnier than Danger Ehren taking a mule kick to the dick here is how insanely badly he's trembling with fear upon approaching the Donkey. Dude is petrified.

#38. The Beehive Limo
(Jackass: Number Two)
Jackass: Number Two is full of double cross pranks, where the cast is lead to believe one thing is happening and then ambushed with something entirely different. Here we have Dave England on his way to a supposed photo shoot when suddenly, his limo is filled with bees. The cartoonishly perfect icing on the cake is the puddle of marbles on the ground waiting outside when he can finally escape being locked inside the car.

#37. Poo Cocktail Supreme
(Jackass 3D)
Jackass typically saves the best stunt of the movie for the very end but as Johnny Knoxville points out here, this is something the TV show already did a decade prior. The gang definitely seems to be running low on ideas in Jackass 3D and the grand finale being a re-run of something they've already done is the biggest indicator of such. Don't get me wrong, it's still insanely gross and the increased scale of the stunt makes it entertaining but the whole thing is undercut by a feeling of "been there, done that".

#36. Riot Control Test 2
(Jackass: Number Two)
Watching Knoxville return for a second round of "less lethal" riot control testing in Jackass: Number Two is a testament to his commitment to providing laughs no matter what the cost. This seems a tad grim compared to most of the silly antics the group undertakes but it's must-watch content none the less. Especially given it's the first segment to bring Bam Margera to tears.

#35. The Dum-Dum Game
(Jackass Forever)
Here we have an example of how the Jackass crew is so great at creating tension with such primitive methods. Acting as a sadistic game show host (maybe even soft launching his future career on Fear Factor) Knoxville asks Poopies, Danger Ehren and Wee-Man a series of 4th grade level trivia questions with the penalty of a wrong answer being a mechanized flip flop launching into their crotch. The anxiety each of them goes through trying to scramble for the answer as Knoxville revels in girlish glee is absolutely hilarious.

#34. Running of the Bulls
(Jackass: Number Two)
Jackass: Number Two delivers another great orchestral, slow motion opening credit sequence - this time with a little more planning and well staged unfolding of events. The intro ups the ante on production value and danger involved to show you this sequel is much more than just an empty cash grab, obligatory comedy sequel. It's a legitimate ratcheting up of the stakes to make this bigger and better than the original. Or die trying.

#33. Alligator Tightrope
(Jackass: The Movie)
Here again, the added element of danger and unpredictability with live animals always sparks up the enjoyment for me in a stunt. Especially with something as intimidating as an alligator pit. Steve-O is phenomenal, especially in the aftermath admitting that this was the first time he'd ever even attempted to walk on a tight rope.

#32. The Brand
(Jackass: Number Two)
While undeniably painful, the thing that makes this bit really work is the fact that Bam squirms so much that he ends up receiving 3 penis brands on his ass instead of 1. But even better yet is when he reveals the grisly aftermath to his horrified mother.

#31. The High Five
(Jackass 3D)
The first stunt in Jackass 3D is this hilarious prop hand that levels members of the cast as they unsuspectingly walk through a doorway. The group does over sell their laughs a bit but tricking Danger Ehren into randomly bringing them a trey full of soup as well as executing the perfect antique on Bam makes it all worth it.

#30. Sweaty Fat Fucks
(Jackass: The Movie)
I always love seeing the boys in fat suits. Even when you've got pros like Matt Hoffman and Tony Hawk who can still land ridiculous tricks in the over sized stuffed clothing, it still produces a funny visual. Especially with Bam in the middle of the proceedings snapping his deck on a board slide attempt and being smacked under the chin by his skateboard rolling down the ramp after him and hitting him perfectly in the jaw.

#29. Big Red Rocket
(Jackass: Number Two)
The final and most impressive ramped launch over the lake in Jackass: Number Two finds Johnny Knoxville strapped to an enormous red rocket. Which of course, hilariously falls apart and fails to launch on the first attempt. But when Knoxville is finally sent into orbit, it is quite the sight to behold.

#28. The Alligator
(Jackass: The Movie)
Without the censors of traditional cable television to worry about, Bam Margera vows to get his mother to say "fuck" on camera with one of their stunts in the first movie. And thanks to animal expert Manny Puig, a surprise alligator in the kitchen does just the trick. Her response is absolutely priceless as she seems genuinely terrified of the massive beast waiting for her in her kitchen.

#27. Silence of the Lambs
(Jackass: Best and Last)
Originally featured in Jackass Forever, this may be the one bit of recycled materials that's actually enhanced by being included in Best and Last due to the added footage of Bam. The crew really perfected the art of the double cross by this point, with Knoxville leading different unsuspecting groups of cast members into a windowless room, to be left alone in the dark with a series of booby traps. Oh, and Pontius doing a spot-on Buffalo Bill impression really puts the bit over as well.

#26. Opening Credits
(Jackass: The Movie)
There's not a whole lot to this bit, but somehow the crew speeding downhill in an over sized shopping cart with the bombastic operatic soundtrack of "O Fortuna" setting the tone for the insanity to come puts a smile on my face every time I see it. It encapsulates the Jackass experience perfectly and showcases each cast member with a fitting moment highlighting their respective place in the Jackass universe. An incredibly well produced introduction.

#25. The Field Goal
(Jackass 3D)
There's not much of a set up here but there really doesn't need to be. Seeing an NFL kicker drill a football into Preston Lacey's face is something I could watch once a month for the rest of my life.

#24. The Electrician
(Jackass Forever)
God I would have loved to see this done several times to multiple random civilians. Fucking COVID...Knoxville plays an electrician here who asks a nearby woman to press one of the levers on his lift truck to help him down and of course all hell breaks loose each time she tries to help. It's absolutely hilarious and a segment that I really wish would have went on a bit longer under more normalized filming circumstances.

#23. Tidal Wave
(Jackass: The Movie)
The visual of Johnny Knoxville being absolutely eviscerated by a tidal wave of crashing water is phenomenal. Am I crazy or does this one actually look fun? I mean the crashing water charging at you looks intimidating as hell but the aftermath makes it seem like it might not be so bad?

#22. Riot Control
(Jackass: The Movie)
This stunt seems more scary than most, making Johnny Knoxville look genuinely hesitant for once. His reactions to the "less lethal" target practice set a grim tone and yet he still comes out of this with the hilarious punctuation on the bit bragging about how well he took the bean bag shot to the abdomen. "That's instinct. You can't teach that"

#21. Snake River Redemption
(Jackass 3D)
As much as I've bemoaned the overuse of slow motion in Jackass 3D, this stunt really benefits from it. Especially with how much the smoke obstructs the full speed view of the jump. But the slowed down replay looks absolutely stunning and borderline heroic. Long Live Random Hero.

#20. The Mousetrap
(Jackass: The Movie)
Like the papercut bit listed previously, there's something about the familiar clap of a mousetrap that can make just about anyone flinch. And the aerial shot of Danger Ehren scurrying across a floor covered in traps while wearing a ridiculous mouse costume is one of the best visuals the series has ever produced.

#19. No Breaks
(Jackass: The Movie)
While not a full blown member of the Jackass crew, Spike Jonze is somewhat of an unsung hero of Jackass: The Movie with his old man make-up antics. The best of which finds him speeding downhill on a motorized scooter screaming "my breaks!". Bravo sir.

#18. Wind Tunnel
(Jackass: Number Two)
Another Jackass: Number Two double cross, this time we find Bam Margera locked in a horse trailer with his greatest fear - snakes. A king cobra to be exact. Bam's terrified reaction is 100% genuine, producing tears for the second time in the same movie and one of the best reactions of the entire series. Plus Bam's kind of a dick in this movie, so seeing him getting a taste of his own medicine is pretty satisfying in it's own right.

#17. Tropical Pole Vaulting
(Jackass: The Movie)
Backed by The Ramones' spectacular rendition of "California Sun", Steve-O's chaotic campaign of tropical pole vaulting has a frenzied energy buzzing through it that highlights what made the segment formatting of the tv series so successful; with the perfect crescendo as the song comes to it's closing moments as Steve-O takes his final climatic drop. Cinema.

#16. Wings of Icarus
(Jackass Forever)
While I found Jackass Forever slightly limited in some regards, I do think Knoxville went out with 2 of the most impressive stunts of the film, this being the best of the bunch. The lake jump stunts from the previous movies never fully captured the scale of the bit like this one does, with a winged Knoxville being shot out of a cannon at staggering heights - it's truly a visual spectacle and honestly more impressive without the rocket they tried to impliment in Number Two.

#15. Terror Taxi
(Jackass: Number Two)
Poor Ehren gets tormented by the crew so much, but never worse than this climatic finale to Jackass: Number Two. Not only is he the unknowing mark for this double cross in which Broken Lizard's Jay Chandrasekhar poses as a hostile cab driver that takes Ehren hostage at gun point, but Ehren does all of this while wearing a prop beard made of the cast's crab infested pubic hair. The prank gone wrong concept is hilarious, even if there's some bad acting in the execution. Regardles, this may be one of the gang's most well thought out bits.

#14. Hardware Store Crap
(Jackass: The Movie)
As much as I love the over the top DIY Evil Knievel appeal to some of the gang's huge stunts in the sequels, there's a certain charm to the lower scale bits in the early years. The Hardware Store Crap is a perfect example of something you'd dare your friend to do, but never have the balls to actually pull off. The lead up with the failed first attempt is also a hilarious look behind the scenes at the making of these stunts, you just have to wonder how many ex-lax Dave England took beforehand.

#13. The Swamp Chute
(Jackass: Number Two)
Wee-Man's best Jackass stunt comes courtesy of this fan boat induced parachute opening that sends him skipping across the water like a pebble. And you gotta love anything that incorporates a fan boat, right?

#12. The Anaconda Ball Pit
(Jackass: Number Two)
I'm not entirely sure what's supposed to be happening here with the anaconda ball pit but that doesn't detract from the fact that they're standing in a fucking ball pit with a mother fucking anaconda. Seriously. In what turns out to be the bloodiest stunt Jackass has ever produced, Johnny Knoxville takes multiple bites to the forearm as Ryan Dunn is simultaneously coiled by the intimidating reptile. But in true Jackass fashion, the final punchline comes after the anaconda exits the pit and Knoxville exclaims "oh, we forgot about the other snake!"

#11. The Valentine
(Jackass: Number Two)
The premise here is so simple, yet so so brilliant. Enticing so many different cast members to read this hand written valentine taped to a hotel room door, only to for them to be jacked in the face by a spring loaded boxing glove is hilarious each and every time. With the popularity and exposure of the cast at an all time high, the Jackass crew needed to adapt for the sequel to work and this incredible prank sets the tone for the Jackasses turning the bullseye of their stunts toward themselves rather than the unsuspecting public effectively evolving the tone of the series to grow beyond their humble beginnings.

#10. The Lie Detector
(Jackass Forever)
Initially set-up as a simple lie detector segment where Danger Ehren receives a jolt from an electric shock collar if Knoxville doesn't believe Ehren's replies to his questions; things escalate magnificently with Ehren being covered in honey and salmon while strapped to a chair and subjected to a live bear. Ehren looks absolutely terrified. And even worse, as he's trying to be still with the bear pawing salmon chunks off of his body, Knoxville continues to administer electric shocks to Ehren through the shock collar around his neck. Jackass will always be associated with Johnny Knoxville but Danger Ehren is the MV-fucking-P of Jackass Forever.

#9. The Toro Totter
(Jackass: Number Two)
This teeter-totter from hell makes for a terrifying game of rodeo roulette and adds an extra layer of fear and anticipation to the already horrifying prospect of a charging bull. There are plenty of great moments here outside of the obvious physical comedy - like Bam realizing he's got no one to lift him in the air once his partner, Ryan Dunn, has exited the ring. But Ryan Dunn breathing a brief sigh of relief on the ground after exiting the pen, only to jump out of his fucking skin at the sound of a balloon popping next to him was the highlight for me.

#8. Fireworks Wake-Up
(Jackass: The Movie)
It truly is unbelievable the amount of shit Phil and April Margera are willing to put up with from their 20 something son who still lives with them despite being a professional skateboarder. But regardless, the carnage unleashed by Bam and his arsenal of fireworks as his poor dad tries to get some sleep before work is shit head anarchy at it's finest. And the visual of seeing Phil get caught off guard a second time, as his van lights up like the Fourth of July is somehow even funnier. Which goes to show, sometimes the reaction is more valuable than the setup and there are very few people you love to get a reaction from more than our beloved Phil.

#7. Firehose Rodeo
(Jackass: Number Two)
The sheer scale of this massive stunt, matched with the panoramic Western backdrop is absolutely remarkable. Plus Dave England finally gets to shine in a stunt requiring him to do something besides take a shit. Although he does end up with a bloody, mud covered ass all the same, this is his best work.

#6. Butt X-Ray
(Jackass: The Movie)
The grand finale of Jackass: The Movie is a hilariously well structured segment where we get an instructive behind the scenes build up of the cast and crew showing us what goes into the "creative process" of a stunt and how the set-up can be almost as entertaining as the pay-off. Ryan Dunn's Oscary-worthy deadpan delivery makes him the perfect leading man for this bit as he sells the interaction with the doctor brilliantly. Not to mention the nurse's picture perfect reaction as she stares in horror at the x-ray.

#5. Golf Course Airhorn
(Jackass: The Movie)
One of my favorite things from the Jackass TV show that didn't quite translate to the film incarnation was the great reactions you'd get from pissed off bystanders. But the best reaction the crew ever got into a movie has to be from these douchey golfers who end up chucking their clubs at Knoxville and company after their caught blasting an airhorn through the golfers' back swings. And you have to hand it to Knoxville for sticking with the bit to the bitter end here as the golfers start hitting the balls directly into the bush the crew is hiding in and yet Knoxville still sounds the airhorn through their swing. If that's not the definition of being a Jackass, I don't know what is.

#4. The Jet Engine
(Jackass 3D)
The sheer power of a jet engine leaving Ryan Dunn unable to stand under it's force is something to behold. The crew trying to catch footballs propelled by the engine, opening an umbrella, and pissing directly into the unbelievably strong gusts is all fairly remarkable to watch and the most memorable stunt from Jackass 3D by a lot. It produces some truly staggering visuals and something I really would've loved to see them revisit at some point.

#3. Rent-A-Car Crash-Up Derby
(Jackass: The Movie)
This one really ticks every box for a great Jackass sketch. First you have the nerve wrenching first person experience of taking a standard rental car into a demolition derby under the phenomenal soundtrack provided by Slayer's "Angel of Death". But then, you get an even better payoff thanks to Johnny Knoxville's uncanny ability to improvise with the rental company as he tries to return the demolished car with "a full tank of gas". Sensational.

#2. The Cup Test
(Jackass Forever)
Another update on a bit from the TV serires, here we have Danger Ehren ratcheting up the stakes of the athletic cup test done 20 years prior by taking an MMA heavyweight's direct punch, high speed softball pitch, P.K. Subban slapshot and finally, a pogo stick to the fucking groin. Goddamn. Again, Danger Ehren feels so disrespected by the rest of the crew but taking a pogo stick jump to the crotch is just one of the many reasons he steals the show in Jackass Forever and delivers one of the best segments the brand has ever produced.

#1. Golf Carts
(Jackass: The Movie)
This may be a case of me being a sucker for a good soundtrack ("Somebody's Gonna Get Their Head Kicked In" provides some hella chaotic energy) but no skit in the series has ever looked as simultaneously dangerous and enticing as this one. Which was the initial allure of Jackass in a nutshell. Yes, they are idiots willing to harm themselves on film for cash but more than that, they're a group of like minded, idiot friends having the absolute time of their fucking lives in doing so. Right up until they're absolutely fucking not. It's a high octane incarnation of bumper cars unleashed with the funniest members of the Jackass crew front and center. For me, this is the penultimate Jackass segment.
